If this happened in the last 72 hours you can consider PEP - pills you can take after sex that may stop an HIV infection. 

The soonest you can test for HIV is 2-4 weeks after a risk event (e.g. unprotected sex) and you will be asked to test again 12 weeks after the event. Find out more about the window period.

For the best care, testing for HIV should be done with your prescribing doctor or local sexual health clinic, who should also be testing you for STIs and your kidney function. Our rapid HIV testing is not suitable for those on PrEP. 

For the best care when taking PrEP, either daily or using 2-1-1, testing needs to be done with your prescribing doctor or local sexual health clinic as you need blood taken from a vein as well as your STI screen and other required testing.
